Portrait of 794 Trooper (Tpr) Michael Dwyer, 10th Light Horse Regiment on horseback. A native of Tipperary, Ireland, he had served for three years with the Hussars prior to enlisting with the 1st AIF on 10 February 1915. Tpr Dwyer embarked with the 3rd Reinforcements from Fremantle aboard HMAT Itonus on 19 February 1915. He was killed in action in Palestine on 31 July 1918, and buried at Jerusalem War Cemetery.
